Using GPS to Get Directions to the Car Show

GPS is the best way to make sure you do not get lost on the way to the car show. You could ask for a map to the show but GPS is better. It can provide you with many ways to get there if traffic is backed up or a road is closed. There are several different types of GPS systems on the market currently. Some are constantly updated with new information and some require you to purchase CDs to update information.

Many GPS systems are quite affordable and can be moved from car to car. They are a good investment and can really cut your travel time down. Have you ever gotten lost? It is easy to become lost in an area you are unfamiliar with. A GPS System can prevent you from getting lost and save you time.

You are not the only person to get lost on the way to an event. You may want to be early to the car show to ensure a parking space. This is especially true if you are part of the show. Most events will have a scheduled time you will need to be there for set up before the event is open to the public. If you do not arrive on time you may not be allowed to participate. There generally are on exceptions unless it has been approved prior. Most GPS systems can provided you with the estimated time of arrival. This will insure that you arrive at the correct time.

Many car shows do not provided maps to the facilities. Most of their flyers will state the address. If you do not own a GPS system you should map quest the driving directions. Marking you way on the mark before leaving to the event is a good idea.

If the event is local, drive by it before the weekend of the show, this will allow you to become accustomed to the area. This may not be possible if the show is out of town. Most judging occurs prior to the car show opening to the public. Arriving late can disqualify you. In some cases you may not be allowed in at all. Many event have registration fees that are non refundable. If you fail to arrive on time you may forfeit the fees.

Leaving early for your destination can help you avoid being late if something beyond your control occurs like a car accident on the freeway.
